So Many Ways to Earn Crypto Passively!

In this article, I’m going to cover some ways that I earn crypto passively so that you can make a little-bit of side cash over time. This won’t be a get rich quick solution, but the idea is that once setup you won’t be spending any of your time or energy to get some crypto in your pocket. With how unpredictable the crypto market is, that little-bit of crypto you accumulated on the side over the months may just turn into some nice spending cash.

All it takes is a tweet from pioneer Elon Musk to cause a spike in demand for DOGECOIN within a single day. The crypto market seems to have some strong movements based on sentiment and with the growing demand of crypto coins can lead to so nice profits down the road if you get in early.

I won’t be talking about buying, selling, or trading in this article. I’m no investing expert, so I’m not here to tell you what coins will profit and which ones will tank, or when to buy and when to sell. Likewise, I’ll be sharing some ways that I’ve accumulated cryptocurrency, just doing what I do normally day-to-day.

So let’s get started.

1. Try out Brave Web Browser

Download Brave Browser. Seriously. I love this browser. Not only does it naturally block trackers and ads, giving you more privacy, it saves you load times and battery life on mobile devices. And guess what. They will pay you BAT (Basic Attention Tokens) just for using it through their Brave Rewards.

In about a month of using this browser, I’ve accumulated 4.25 BAT, currently valued at about $2.74 USD. It’s not much, but it’s passive. I could trade this currency for coin(s) I can see growing in the future, or I can tip these coins to other users wallets to say thank you for their content! Pretty nifty.

2. Install the Presearch Browser Extension

“Search privately, receive better results and get rewarded with the Presearch decentralized search engine, powered by blockchain technology.”

I use this search engine daily to accumulate PRE Tokens from daily searches. Currently, you can earn 0.12 PRE per search for up to 30 paid searches a day. That’s 3.6 PRE Tokens/day or 1300 PRE/year. We are constantly searching for things on the internet, why not get paid for those searches?

After a few months of using this search engine, I’ve made 115.08 PRE. I will note that you must reach a minimum threshold to withdraw your tokens to a wallet. Currently, this threshold is 1000. But, if you’re like me and use the internet every day, you’ll be able to cash out after a year. Be patient, and you’ll have those reward tokens in your wallet in no time by doing what you already do every day!

PRE rewards

Search for the Presearch browser extension on your browser and make sure to set it up as the default search engine. Make sure you register with an account to Presearch, so you can start getting paid.

You can get a 25 PRE Bonus for signing up with my referral and using the Presearch search engine for a month by using this link:

3. Install the Swash Browser extension

The creators of Swashapp.io believe that you should be paid for your data. Anything you put into forms or search bars is your intellectual property and sites are already collecting it and turning it into their profit.

Some days I totally forget I even have this extension, and then I come back and find I’ve been paid some DATA tokens.

You can use my referral link for Swash to help me earn some extra DATA when you join:

Sign up for Swash

Sign up and start getting paid for that data. Swash also promises to keep your data private by default, but you can add some text masking rules for extra protection. You can control what data makes it into their dataset.

4. Coinbase Rewards

Not only can you get started buying, selling, and exchanging crypto on Coinbase, you can learn about crypto and earn some crypto just from watching short videos!

They have quite a few coins that you can earn quickly by watching their informational videos, including AMP, MATIC, GRT, XLM, and COMP. Whether you decide to hold onto those coins or sell them is up to you!

You could earn $10–15 in different cryptos within 20 minutes. Easy crypto to get your wallet started!

You can join Coinbase using my referral link below:

Sign up for Coinbase

Once you buy or sell $100 of crypto through Coinbase, we will both be rewarded with some BTC!

Deposits from your banks are immediately available for trading on their exchange. You will have a few days waiting period before you can withdraw that crypto, though, so keep that in mind.

5. Stake Coins for Interest

Coinbase and other exchanges offer crypto staking as a way for you to earn interest on your cryptocurrency. Much like putting your cash into a savings account to earn interest, you can stake coins to be participated in transaction validation (similar to mining) on a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain.

As you can see above, if I buy and stake ATOM on Coinbase, I can earn an estimated 5.00% yield on my staked coin.

You can read more about staking coins on Coinbase here:

Staking and Inflation on Coinbase

Exodus Wallet, which I currently use for staking also pays some high APY for various coins, so you may want to check out their wallet/exchange as well to get the most for your coin! You can see some of my earnings below for the coin i’ve staked there.

6. Mine Cryptocurrency with Your GPU

I just published an article today on how to mine DOGE with your GPU using the unMineable Miner. This application can run on low usage while you do your day-to-day work and high usage overnight when you’re not using your PC to mine you some cryptocurrency in the background.

You won’t be making the same payouts as a $20,000 bitcoin mining cluster, but you won’t be paying that huge investment to get started. Based on the hashrate of my GPU (RTX 2060 Super), I can make about 140 DOGE/month. Not too shabby for a GPU that’s barely being used by my work.

You can read more about how to set this up on your computer here:

7. Crypto Faucets and Airdrops

I wouldn’t say these are necessarily passive way to get crypto since they do require a tiny-bit of effort, but I didn’t want to leave them out because they are super cool and can get you a lot of diverse cryptos without mining.

What are crypto faucets?

Crypto faucets are sites or apps that distribute small amounts of cryptocurrencies as a reward for completing easy tasks. You will need to have a wallet address ready to obtain these faucet donations.

Here’s a list of some sites that you can use to get some ETH and LTC, but there are many out there, so use that Presearch search engine to find faucets for the coin you desire!

Ethereum Faucets:

Ethereum-faucet.org offers ETH tokens for solving captchas. Additionally, the website allows you to participate in its lottery with a contribution.

  • Allcoins.pw is a crypto faucet that offers miner and auto-faucet features along with a few games. The faucet is free to earn Ether, but you need to pay for playing the games.
  • Fire Faucet offers multiple ways to earn ETH tokens, including browser mining and completing captchas. Use my referral link to earn: Sign Up
  • Dutchy CORP is another free Ethereum faucet website that allows you to earn rewards by solving captchas and playing games.

Litecoin Faucets:

  • Moon Litecoin offers free LTC to users for completing multiple tasks. The faucets use Coinpot.co micro wallet to store the small rewards earned by a user. After reaching the minimum threshold, the LTC rewards can be deposited into your wallet with no fees.
  • Fire Faucet is an auto faucet that pays you Litecoin in addition to BTC and other cryptocurrencies as long as you have Auto Claim Points (ACP). To get free ACP, you need to register on the website. The faucet will run automatically until your ACP is exhausted. You can earn more ACP through gift boxes and by performing tasks like visiting short links, clicking ads, etc.

Credits to Werner Vermaak from CoinMarketCap for the information on Crypto Faucets and the examples above.

Similarly, Crypto Airdrops are giveaways of cryptocurrency, mainly when new coins get introduced to the market

CoinMarketCap has a great page of coin airdrops you can participate in. I highly suggest you bookmark this page and read more about how to grab some of these airdrops.

More to Come

Most of these methods described above can be done passively in the background. Airdrops and faucets may be a bit more manual, but if you have the spare time in your day, try it out.

As I come across other ways to passively earn some crypto, I will add them to my article, so give me a follow if you want to be informed of new articles!

As always, thanks for reading. Please let me know if you have any questions and what other kind of content you would like to see!
